Yoga for Adults With Developmental Disabilities

Fernando
David

Specialized Hatha yoga classes for adults with developmental disabilities. Classes provide a fun, supportive environment and include postures to increase balance, flexibility and relaxation. Adjustments and cueing are provided based on individual needs. Participants are encouraged to practice at their own pace with a focus on abilities.
Program staff and volunteers are encouraged to participate in the class to provide modeling and also to enjoy some of the benefits of yoga. You work hard, it's good to have a break.
There are many benefits to practicing yoga including increased relaxation, flexibility, focus and strength. Yoga practice may also improve quality of life by providing opportunities to increase physical stimulation and to develop a positive self image.
